2023 토랜스제일장로교회 Faith Forward 신학생 장학금 안내

 

"교회다운 교회, 성도다운 성도"들의 공동체를 꿈꾸는 토랜스제일장로교회가 

영어권 사역을 준비하는 신학생들을 위해 장학금을 제공합니다.

 

 

장학금 신청 대상자
- 미국 내에서 신학 공부 중인 대학원생으로서 영어권 사역(Ministry or Teaching)을 준비하며 현재 지역 교회에서 성실히 신앙생활하고 있는 자


* 이전 수혜자는 다시 신청하실 수 없습니다.

* 각 수혜자에게는 $2,500의 장학금이 수여되며 모든 장학금은 학교에 직접 지급됩니다.

* 특별 장학금 수혜자에게는 $5,000의 장학금이 수여되며, 본 교회에서의 Internship 선택이 가능합니다.

* 수혜자는 장학금을 받은 학기에 계속 출석해야 하며 학기당 평균 학점 3.0 이상을 유지해야 합니다.

* 장학금 수혜자가 장학금을 받은 학기를 마치지 못하거나 휴학 및 자퇴하는 경우, 수혜자는 TFPC에 서면으로 이유를 알려야 합니다.

 

 

목회자 /신학자 양성을 위한 장학금

목회학 석사(M. Div.)과정, M.A in Christian Education, Th. M in Theology 및

박사(Ph. D/D.Min.)과정 입학 예정자나 재학중인 학생

 

 

지원자격
1. 신분은 U.S citizen 과 영주권자 가능

2. 한국인

3. 지역 교회에서 성실히 신앙생활 하는 자

4. ATS(Association of theological Schools) 정회원 신학교에서 풀타임 또는 파트타임으로 등록 되어있는 신학생 (M.Div, M.A in Christian Education, Th.M, D.Min, Ph.D. in Theology, Christian family counseling  또는 이에 상응하는 프로그램)

5. 장학금은 수업료로만 사용해야 합니다.

6. 이전 수혜자는 다시 신청하실 수 없습니다.

7. 마감일까지 모든 서류를 작성하여 제출해야 합니다.

8. 최소 평점 3.0이상(4.0 만점 기준)

 

 

지원서류

* 모든 지원서류는 영어로 제출해 주시기 바랍니다.
1. 장학금 지원 서류(Application)

2. 에세이 (2-3 pages)

- 개인 소명 고백서(1 page)

- “세속화된 문화 속에서 한인 이민교회는 미국내 지역 사회에서 어떻게 교류하며 사람들을 하나님께로 인도할 수 있습니까?” (2-3 pages)

3. 추천서 2 인 (Academic 추천서와 Pastoral 추천서 각 1 인 요) 2023에 발행된 것

4. 재정 상황 설명(Statement) 및 증명 서류

(예: Income tax 1040 form copy, 제출 시 SSN정보는 가려 주십시오.)

5. 가장 최근 학교의 공식 성적 증명서
6. 입학 혹은 재학 확인서 (2023년 가을에 입학하는 학생의 경우)

2023 TFPC Faith Forward Scholarship


"Torrance First Presbyterian Church strives toward our vision: ‘Real Church, True Christians,’ 

and we are offering scholarships, preferably for 1.5 or 2nd Generation American seminarians 

who are preparing for ministries."

 

 

Scholarship Beneficiaries

A Korean descendant of legal resident of the US, preferably, 1.5 or 2nd Generation Korean- American Seminarians who are enrolled in their graduate theological program preparing for future English ministries.

 

* Those who received TFPC scholarship before cannot apply.

Each recipient will be awarded $2,500, to be paid directly to the school. The recipient must continue to attend classes and maintain no lower than a 3.0 grade-point average per semester (or equivalent).

 

“Faith Forward” Scholarship recipient will receive $5000 with an option for an internship opportunity at TFPC

 

If a scholarship recipient does NOT complete the term or withdraws from school, the recipient MUST notify TFPC in writing with reasons.

 


Pastoral Ministry/ Theological Academics Scholarship:
Students who are enrolled in an M.Div, M.A in Christian Education and Christian family counseling, Th. M., Ph. D in Theology, D.Min or equivalent program, and currently serving in pastoral ministry at a local church. And

 


Eligibility

  1. Citizenship or Permanent Resident
  2. Korean descendant
  3. Active member of a Christian church
  4. Must be a candidate/enrolled either full-time or part-time at an ATS (Association of Theological Schools) accredited educational institution in the US, in one of the following programs: M.Div, M.A in Christian Education, Th.M, D.Min, Ph.D. in Theology, or equivalent programs.
  5. The scholarship funds MUST go towards tuition ONLY.
  6. Previous recipients of the TFPC Scholarship do NOT qualify.
  7. Must complete and submit ALL required documents by the due date.
  8. Must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA out of a 4.0 scale.

 


Requirements

* All Application Forms should be in submitted in English.

2. Essay (2-3 pages) Topic -

- Your personal calling (1 page)

- “How can Korean American churches interact with our community, connecting people to concretely encounter God in a secularized culture?” (2-3 pages)

3. Letters of recommendations (one academic and one pastoral) dating 2023 with contact number

- Must submit a digital copy

4. Financial statement and proof of financial need

(Income tax 1040 form copy. Please hide your account number and SSN.)

5. Official transcript from the most recent school - Must submit a digital copy

6. Proof of Admission/enrollment (for those starting a program in Fall 2023)
